Leeds, AL - The Leeds Greenwave survived a three hour home game to defeat Hale County 17-13 in their opening playoff game and the first game of a double-header. Two pitchers in the rotation for Leeds and three for Hale County played on the mound and Leeds went through their entire batting rotation twice in back-to-back innings. Dylan Shelton opened the pitching for Leeds and Andrew Isbell relieved him in the fifth inning. Contributing to the length of the game: high pitch counts and the fact that Hale County walked nine batters and Leeds walked eight.
